Biography
Born in 1994 (Maharashtra), Kumar studied painting followed by a Masters in Printmaking from at the Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai. Kumar comes from a farming family and is inspired by his love for nature. His art practice highlights the plight of the farmers in India as well as the importance of building a more nurturing relationship with nature. He believes that the soul of India is in the countryside! Papermaking, drawing, and printmaking are the ways through which he expresses himself. He makes his own paper, adding a unique layer to the very work he creates. Kumar is a recipient of the NEXT - STEP residency and showcase 2022 and was part of the Baddi Art Residency in Himachal Pradesh in 2021.
