Abhishek Dodiya
India
Biography
Born in 1984 (Gujarat), Abhishek studied sculpture at College of Fine Arts - Ahmedabad, followed by a PDVA from MSU Baroda. He focusses on how objects are connected with humans and their psychology. He likes to use materials from a construction site, like metal scrap and cement. He is himself a master welder who learnt by watching his father weld furniture since his childhood. His work invites viewers to engage with surface textures, prompting reflections on personal experiences. Abhishek Dodiya’s visuals challenge and unearth the inconspicuous aspects of yearning that permeate the urbanscapes, masterfully exploring the relationship between people and their homes in the city. Abhishek’s large-scale work is in the collection of and at display on campus at Plaksha University in Mohali.
